Discover how easy it is to balance on top of the water. The perfect blend of exercise and fun, stand up paddle boarding builds core body strength while allowing you to enjoy scenic lakes, coves and inlets. In a relaxed environment our expert instructors will teach the fundamentals of stand up paddling and the essential safety skills.
Dress for the weather and be prepared to get wet. You must wear shoes that will stay on your feet in the water. Boards and gear will be provided or bring your own SUP.
Cost: $35.00 per participant. Limit of 8 participants per class. You must call River Sports Outfitters at 865-523-0066 to reserve your space.

This is a class for beginner and inexperienced paddlers who want to learn about the sport of recreation kayaking. On shore, we will cover safety, dealing with boat traffic, boat fit, paddling posture and how to hold a paddle. On the water we will cover launching, landing and the basic strokes that make the boat go straight and turn. Paddling safety will be stressed. In addition to these skills, you will learn about the ecosystem and the history of the area.
Dress for the weather and be prepared to get wet. You must wear shoes that will stay on your feet in the water. Boats and gear will be provided or bring your own touring or rec boat. Cost is $35.00 per participant. Limited to 7 participants per class. Call to reserve your spot!

Taught by a certified fitness instructor with River Sports Outfitters, this full body low impact workout challenges every muscle by combining paddling plyometrics, strength training and balance atop a stand up paddle board. Class begins with a half hour of paddle instruction, showing you how to engage your core using the proper paddle techniques and how to maneuver on your board. The next hour we will combine paddle sprints, balance challenges and strength exercises using your body weight, bands and more. No experience necessary and all exercise can be modified for any fitness level.
Dress for the weather and be prepared to get wet. You must wear shoes that will stay on your feet in the water. Boards and gear will be provided or bring you own SUP.
Cost is $55.00 per student per session. Participant limit is 6 per class.
