The Cup of Hope Tea Luncheon is a domestic violence awareness event that will coincide with Domestic Violence Awareness month and benefit The Salvation Army's Joy D. Baker Center. Bradford Catered Events will be catering the event with a full service tea and lunch menu in the beautiful, fully remodeled Historic Southern Railway Station. WBIR-TV's Robin Wilhoit will be the emcee for the luncheon.

This year marks the 20th anniversary of the Joy D. Baker Center. In celebration of this milestone, we will be honoring Ola Blackmon-McBride for her continuous support of the center and The Salvation Army. We will also give the first annual Joy D. Baker Hope Award to Debbie Bruce for her work with domestic violence, The Salvation Army and the community.

The Joy D. Baker Center serves as a shelter for women with or without children affected by domestic violence as well as homeless women with children. In addition to providing housing and meals, our 24-hour staff are counselors and liaisons for the court and school systems and assist with job placement or referrals to other agencies.
