Maryville College in Maryville, TN seeks applicants for the position of Director of Admissions. The Director of Admissions will provide leadership and direction for undergraduate recruitment and admissions efforts. This includes overseeing personnel and day-to-day operations in admissions, including planning, development and implementation of marketing plans. The Director will represent the College at events and meetings on and off campus, and will stay abreast of trends in higher education and the recruitment marketplace. Essential Duties and Responsibilities: •Oversees the recruitment activities of multiple counselors assuring the staff is maintaining quality relationships with prospective students and family members while working to enhance the name recognition and reputation of the College through targeted recruiting strategies •Strategically deploys Admission staff and resources to achieve recruitment goals and within budget allocation •Develops relationships with key individuals who have significant influence on prospective students, including but not limited to parents, guidance counselors, teachers, alumni and ministers •Supervises the evaluation of admission applications within criteria established by the faculty Admissions Committee •Provides or facilitates on-going staff development •Hires, sets performance expectations and evaluates Admissions staff members including Associate and Assistant Directors as well as Admission Counselors. •Conducts weekly individual counselor meetings to assess progress and identify strategies to assure counselor success. •Assists in the development and implementation of communication strategies to engage prospective students and their families to both recruit and assess the seriousness of the student •Serves on the Admissions Committee as the Admission Office staff liaison •Serves as the liaison with the athletic recruiting initiatives Directly supervises all admissions counselors. Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization's policies and applicable laws. Responsibilities include interviewing, hiring, and training employees; planning, assigning, and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems.
